955k catapillar track loader HELP!!!!

Ok so I just bought a old 955k started pushing brush and noticed the temp gauge climbing . I stopped went back the next day and pulled the thermostat. It still does the same thing makes it about 2 hrs before it gets hot . ? Is how do I go about draining the coolant ? I cant see a drain valve on it anywhere . Any help would be much appreciated.

yes sir ,I should've added i sprayed it down pretty good with the engine running. Didn't get a whole lot out . I took the radaitor cap off to fill up and noticed it was very brown like rust . Should I unbolt the thermostat housing half way and crank up engine to pump water out ? With a water hose in the fill hole .

The drain plug for the rad is accessed from a hole in the left hand side of the radiator housing from the outside, look on the housing inside the front idler on the left hand side sitting in the seat, you will find a hole, with a 9/16 socket on an extension through the hole the drain valve is there where the bottom hose elbow bolts to the rad,to flush out the rad put the thermostat back in,connect a hose to the drain valve, with the caps off turn on the hose the object is to back flush the rad, keep it going till the water comes clear,to clean the outside it is best to remove the front grille and work from the outside, the fan blows out so the dirt is stuck to the inside and should be cleaned from the outside otherwise cleaning from the inside only makes it worse and it is bad practice to run the engine while doing it,those engines should not be run without the thermostat.
Good luck

Sounds good . Thank you sir I'll try that out tomorrow and let you know how it goes . I'm thinking it might be the water pump . I took the cap off with the engine running and thermostat out . Not any water flow . Should I be able to see water circulating in radaitor?

No there is a baffle plate as I remember, when you look in I don't think you can see the tubes,I doubt very much if it's the water pump, when you are putting the thermostat back in with the throttle in stop hit the starter and you will see if the pump is working.check the belts,if the pump is not leaking I would leave it for now until you are sure the rad is clean, when you think the rad is clean put a light on the inside and see if you can look through it.
Good luck
AJ
