580E Noise At Idle

I've got a 580E backhoe that seems to have developed a clatter at idle, that goes away as the rpm's go up. It sounds like it's coming from
the area of the injection pump but I'm not sure. Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks
Pete

Check the front engine mounting,if the rubber cushion has rotted away it can a hell of a racket, there is one on the front and two on the back,it is usually the front one that goes,it is not easy to fit it as you are limited the amount the engine can be raised but it can be done.

Pete, You need to rescue this one! He had all new pins and bushings in boxes but needed the shuttle rebuilt. The shuttle sat on the work bench for years and was always going to be a rainy day project. My White has the same Cummins 4B 239 CID engine. Changed engine mounts on his Case 550G due to excess vibration as well that has the 4BT Cummins.
