My son has a chance to buy an AC HD-5 Dozer. Tracks and sprockets seem in pretty good shape.Engine is stuck.
Been sitting for 7-8 years where it threw a lag. Former owner is deceased and his wife wants $700 for it
where it is sitting. I saw it run years ago but can't remember a lot about it. Would like to hear from
anyone who has one and what they think of it. Engine rebuild is not that hard as it is a GM diesel.

it would seem to me its probably worth that to a salvage yard. if you can do the work for your self I would buy it. get it home check it out and see what you have. motor part aren't a problem but other parts can be. a lot of those were melted down years ago. im sure if you don't want it tell us here where its at as someone on here would buy it . Sort of a small dozer that if it is running good can do quite a bit of work but just not real heavy work. good luck either way. norm

For $700.00 you can get more just for the track and about the motor it could be just a rotor crack in blower and about parts for HD5 am still have some

Lags and undercarriage seem pretty good by looking. Rest of machine is not bad with virtually no rust. Engine was left where it quit and water got in the exhaust. Engine will not turn over. It's a 2 cyl GM diesel.I used to be a mechanic on the old GM 2 strokes back in the 70's and we have some experience with and can fix it ourselves. Just found where to get any GM parts we need. You guys seem to think it is not a bad buy, my son will be happy to hear that. Let you know if we get it.
