1974 Cat D5 Throttle Lever problem

I own a 1974 model Cat D5 that was working fine when I shut it down a few weeks ago. Today when I started it up the throttle lever detent will not keep the lever in the full on position. I tried holding it back and pushing the decelerator pedal and it works fine that way but the lever will no longer stay in the full throttle position. I'm not familiar with the throttle assembly so I thought I would ask for advice before just starting to take things apart. How do I get to the detent that holds the throttle in the full throttle position and what should I look for when I get into it?

I got into one on a D6 about 8 years ago but I couldn't tell you now what all was involved if I tried. That said, I do remember I did it out in the field and managed to get it working right again with no parts needed, so you might get lucky. Like I tell people all the time about mechanics in general, it's not rocket science.....LOL
