Will a 600b crankshaft work in a 430? I see different part numbers between the two but figured Id ask. 164 vs 148ci for displacement I believe?

430 has a 148Bcid engine. Lower end is larger than older 148cid, Crank rod & main journals are larger and there probably are other crank related differences in the lower end that I don't remember. Crank p/n is G11183.

Same journals and length. The 600B crank is splined in the back, Early 430 crank could be drilled for pilot bearing, or splined in the later models.

John I just responded to the difference between the original 148 engine and the 148B engine in the 430. The later definitely has a larger lower end including larger rod & main journals.

I haven't worked on a 600B engine but I am pretty sure is higher cid than a 148.

Just because you don't get a response every time doesn't mean your posts get ignored John. I have a later style crank so my parts 600b crank wont work.

Thank you John and Joe both for the input.

Not true John, I've probably read every post you've made or been involved in since you joined in 2003 (2009 is incorrect). I don't always agree with you but I certainly respect your experience and expertise. You're recommended on this site as a seller with experienced advice along with the part by just about everyone including me.
