Shutting off a LA with Case mag

My son dragged home an LA a few weeks ago. I helped him get it running(rebuilt carb and starter motor), and all seems to be good except for shutting it down. How is the mag grounded to kill it??? No obvious external posts on the mag for a kill switch. I think its a Case mag as it appears to have an eagle case into the top.

Is the advance and retard lever hooked to the mag? The lever is beside the throttle lever...shove the lever forward towards retard and
it will kill. At least that is the way mine works....

Thanks, it is hooked up. I will give it a try. There might be something wrong inside the mag too...

Must be something is wrong inside the mag. No dice when the lever is moved from one extreme to the other.

check inside it might just be the grounding tab.
