Trouble running CASE S

Please bare with me as I'm sure this has been discussed before. I recently bought a CASE S at an auction. It was running prior to the sale. It will start up, but only run at idol. It dies as soon as you give it some throttle. I have had the carb apart a couple of times, but have not replaced the needle or installed a carb kit. (carb kit is on order) Also, when it shuts down gas runs out of the carb. BTW I set the float as seen on a YouTube (level). I have never been good with carbs, so any help would be appreciated.

It might not apply to yours, but on the SO we just brought home the choke is backwards of all other tractors I have ever run, out is run, and in is choked...

Not sure it is supposed to be that way or not. We have no other "S" experience here.

No other way I could see to assemble the carb that would change the way the choke plate fits and still get it to work.

Did you buy your tractor at the CASE auction in Manitowoc? The choke is backwards on the S that I bought there. At this time I have left it that way just to get it running decent. I also found that the on and off switch is
that you push it in to run and pull it out to kill it. This is the first time I have come across a switch like this.

Correct carb, Zenith 9667???

The choke lever has 2 loops on it, It cams over center if you assemble it the way I think It should work.

I came from a consignment auction in Ohio, out of a very large tractor collection in NY that was being liquidated.

Could be dirt in the gas tank, clogged sediment bulb, etc. sounds like it is not getting enough fuel, if it dies when increasing the throttle speed. A stuck or defective float will cause gas to drip from the carburetor.
