Inherited a good one... I hope...

Father-in-law passed away and left this on his land. No one else interested. Looks like a D that was well cared for at one point.

I am not encouraged by the missing rad cap or the broken off intake. Been alone for at least 3 to 4 years and last run ???

Anyways, pretty sure she is a D and looking forward to getting her on home turf next summer so I can look closely.

Have a good day!

All the leaves are gone gonna get cold, get some antifreeze into that radiator, unless hope fully the draincock was opened. Cover the exhaust even tho it has a flapper, wind will blow rain or snow down them. Cover that air intake, open the air intake up between the carb and intake filter and make sure no water is setting in there. That sure looks like a great unit, hope it all works out for you. btw, just trying to be helpful I'm sure you knew to do these things since your the Case Farm kid....gobble

Water can leak around the gear shifter. Try wrapping with duct tape from the bottom up to above the boot to make a temporary seal. If you can get oil/diesel mix into the cylinders, it might help a bunch in the future. Wonderful looking tractor that deserves some TLC. Have fun!

What would indicate a DV? I happen to have an IT manual that covers these in general. And with a bit of research there are quite the variation in the D series. The big hint was the shifter style to indicate a D (series). Otherwise, it is an hour and a half away and it is buried in the bush pretty good. Need to take my 930 there to bulldoze a path and drag her out. Am hoping not stuck but if so I'll get some marvel mystery down her throat(s) to get the loosening process going. Anyways, any info you have to indicate a DV would be appreciated.

Canadian side of the border... and will end up close to Winnipeg where I can assess... I really hope she's not stuck. I can use a small loader tractor. Sitting is not a tractors friend... fingers crossed.

Congratulations Brian. I am going to say it is an early D standard, which is almost exactly like a DO orchard model, except for the air cleaner opening and battery placement. Late model D's have different fenders and the seat arrangement is much higher. Regardless, I hope you have a lot of fun with it. Don

Look at the serial number tag, located under where the battery tray is. Hopefully it is still there and that will have that info on it. And post what it says for us to help you better

The air intake is a good 2 and half feet tall (when I tried to put upright) so I don't think she's a vineyard model. An IT manual pretty bad on specifics so I'd take an 70 to 80 year old tractor with a grain of salt depending who owned it and what they modified. The first check will be a vin tag check. If protected under battery tray or chewed up by battery acid, anyone's guess. My first stop there next spring will be document a ton of stuff including what the heck this is and if the motor turns, tires sizes, will they take air (I think one front was flat). Plan is to drag it out kicking and screeming... not try to start and drive. That just ain't the place to try and wrench. Worst case she'll sit there a couple of months between visits that I can actually take custody! A few mechanical mysteries in front of the exit to the property. Marvel Mystery, about a gallon, on my list and who knows if the block was drained and condition of the rad and stuff. As a Case guy am hopeful but willing to put some time into it. Thanks for explaining the V.. I knew O for orchard. I'll look around the property for other orange parts. There is a 2 bottom plow but a three point hitch or eagle hitch contraption. Snowing now so all will rest till May or so. May long weekend hurry up and get here! Take care
