Typically CaseIH is recommending Hi-Tran or equivalent for the Case-O-Matic. I use the NAPA equivalent in my 800B.

hy tran seems tad thick in cooler weather. i notice this oil seems much lighter than hy tran or the regular jd fluid. i thought about 5 wt oil but not sure about clutches so never ordered any

You are caught between a rock & a hard place. In an attempt to cure the C-O-M issue, you do not want to jeopardize your hydraulic & C-O-M Pumps. The dragging issue with the converters is usually caused by warped & scored clutch plates and no oil will cure that. Having said that, some of our customers have had relief using Dexron 3 Auto Tranny Fluid.

I just figured this oil is better than cheep hyd oio and i got about 100 gallons. At a farm auction 2 new sealed barrels i paid $150 for both barrels.
