Any of you guys have experience with a mag repair shop? My sources have all retired or passed on. I'm
in west central MN. Thanks - Larry

Try Mark's Carburetor & Magneto Service in Rice, MN.

They overhauled the mag for my D.

You could also ask around your local airport. Most small civilian aircraft still run with 2 mags per engine and they all need serviced at some point.

Rudy Calin at Forest Lake Mn. Website www.rebuiltmags.com He has done work for my brother and myself--does good work and good person to work with, Gary.

I highly recommend Rudy Calin at RebuiltMags.com... I also work with him helping him out when he needs a hand. We service/repair/restore magnetos and carburetors. Rudy has more knowledge regarding magnetos in on finger than I have in my whole body!

Marks Magneto Service in Colchester Ct. Fixed the magneto on my Hart Parr with a very fast turn around.

I stumbled onto Sandhill Carbs on Brainerd CL. Hes out of Winger. It might be a closer option.

Maybe it is something I can help with? I know his phone voicemail can get full of messages within an hour. What is it you are looking for? I am usually helping at Rudy's shop several days per week... If you can get me your contact information, I can have him contact you.

I know he is currently out of stock on the E4A mags, but if it is something you need ASAP, he can likely put one together from a core that we have in the shop, or you can send yours in to be rebuilt/restored. Either way we can get you fixed up!! Just make sure if you send your original in for repair, or even just to get your core charge back that you pack it well, and put your contact information inside the box. Do NOT use bubble wrap or packing peanuts. They will not hold up to a magneto in shipping. I always recommend using old t shirts, shop rags, or newspaper and pack it in tightly all around the magneto. These older magnetos are getting harder to find parts for, and it sure is disheartening when they show up with shipping damage.
