1070 has no remote hydraulics

I hooked up to the manure spreader and hit the lever to raise the endgate and....nothing. No pressure, lines weren't jerking even a little, and no whine from the pump.

The steering, pto, powershift, and three point arms all work.

It looks like there's enough oil in the transmission, but the sight glasses are murky. It's an older, tan model. I've heard you can use the engine dipstick to measure the hydraulic fluid - a couple inches above the full mark is full hydraulic fluid, correct? But if everything else works, it's probably not low on fluid.

The tractor is new to me, and I've never owned a Case before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the tractor is new to you did you know on a 1070 the pairs for the remotes are top and bottom , not LH and RH like some other tractors. That is a common mistake made
by new owners. If your 3pt operates correctly the remotes normally do also, just a thought, Rod.

Thank you. I did have them left and right. I tried them top and bottom, but still it doesn't work. I can see the top line has pressure as it moves a little when I pull the lever. The bottom line doesn't move at all, and this is hooked up to the manure spreader endgate. There's no real weight at all, and still it won't lift it. Is there some kind of check valve in the bottom line return to the pump that could be stuck closed?

I checked the hydraulic level with the engine dipstick and it reads 1 1/2 inches above the full line.

I should add that I think this tractor has been sitting a while. I changed the air filter and the date on the old one was Jan. '02. The pre-cleaner bowl had two inches of hardened dirt in it. It's in overall great condition, but hasn't been maintained.

Try a hose with a male coupler on it with the open end in the fill hole. My guess is that your couplers are not allowing flow.

Rod are you sure you are saying that correctly? The 1070 we had which I believe is a 73 (tan color) and my uncle still has it, the top left and top right remote were paired as were the lower left and right.
Editing to add: I also want to add something that has not been mentioned, in that era and earlier Case had it own style of couplings. I am not even sure a standard Pioneer would even attempt to lock into them. I am certain that if it did it would allow flow. It is possible that the tractor has had converted couplers installed and this is not the problem. On the Pioneer couplers
They did have a tip style and a ball style. Sometimes mixing those two would also not allow fluid to flow.

I've tried it both ways, top left/top right and right side top/bottom. Still no flow. The tractor has Pioneer couplings on it. I'm using the ball ends. The loader on my Ford 5610 has Pioneer tip ends. I'll give that a try.
Thanks

If the tractor has been converted from CASE couplers to the later pioneer style you might just have mismatched male ends.
