Kids mad at me, cheap 12-20 at auction yesterday.

I went to a consignment auction yesterday, my boys wanted to go but had to work and go to school so; they gave me a shopping list. I bought what they had sent me for, but were mad at me that I didn't buy the 12-20 crossmotor that was there when I told them what it sold for. I think it was $5900... They thought that I could read their minds and know that that would have been what they actually wanted because it was cheap. I have never seen one sell for under $12K, and this one was pretty nice, complete and ran good.

DO you think it is a sign of the times, the pool of people who care about old iron is dwndling to the point that values are tanking?

With fuel at twice what it was 2 years ago, stock market tanking and taking savings w/ it, economy in recession, WW-3 looming, yes, I
think it is a sign of the times, people are worried.

I think what John said has alot to do with
prices but it also depends on how well the
auction is advertise by paper only or
online by a larger auction firm with a
large following.

A few weeks ago I seen a non running 12-20
sell for just over 9K and a couple others
bdtween 5-7K. Two years ago I bought mine in
good running condition for 7k at an auction
