I have one of these (S/N 5521940) almost restored. How do I find out more about it. I have reproductions of the manuals, but they don't clarify how to tell what year it is from the S/N.

When the manuals refer to low-cost fuel, do they mean propane?

It is a 1951. Low cost fuel was distillate
or kerosene back then

Take the first two digits of the serial number (55) and subtract 4. That is the year of the tractor. 1951
