426 picker and gmccool Thank You

Gmccool posted here that he had found a 426 corn picker a few months ago. He gave me the guys info and I was finally able to bring it home. It was in a falling down shed and it was easier to wait until the the shed was torn down to get it out rather than raising the roof. Many thanks to gmccool!!!!!!!!!

The 426 is joining its older brothers, a 425, a P and an I. Hope
to have them all running together this fall. I guess I dont have a
good picture of the P working.

You are welcome. I knew it was a great find but I also knew that I would put it in the shed and never mount it so I'm glad you are going to put it to use. It looked like a fairly low houred picker. Gerald

I just want to Thank You again for giving me the opportunity to acquire this picker. It was only one and a half hours from me. I have drove MUCH farther for equipment that was in poor shape and as the pictures show, this one is in great shape. I am excited to try it out this fall!!!

I would love to have a picker-sheller and an IM. That dual elevator design really makes an IM stand out. Not many people have ever saw a picker-sheller. They look so big and clumsy that I think they would get a lot of attention at our local harvest show. Hopefully maybe someday. Thanks for posting your pictures. Cool stuff

I have a 426 on a 400 as well. Was just as
nice as that til a tree fell on it. I can
still make it work, but it won be as pretty
anymore. I'm still depressed about it and
it's been 4 or 5 years since the tree fell.

Jon you also have that one row picker you acquired last fall. Hope you're able to get it working properly for this fall's harvest.

Really nice looking picker.Very few case
pickers around this area.Mainly IH as we
had a strong local dealer

sharp looking unit!
I have gave up trying to buy a picker here. There are a few pull type case that come up, but there seems to be an influx of clueless Toronto born people who move to the country and go market garden farming and are buying up pickers. Seems $1500 gets you a broken bent up rusted out machine. Sad part is most of them cant figure out how to make it work, or doesnt do what they expected and it just gets abandoned in the weed patch.
