Case (David Brown) 1210 clutch repair

Anybody have experience removing the clutch on a 1210 tractor?
I need to replace the drive clutch and PTO clutch on this tractor.
It is equipped with the Laycock duel clutch. In the I&T service manual,
for removing the clutch, instructions say to Remove cover at bottom of
clutch and install retaining clips (available at J I Case) over each PTO
release lever, or if desired, wire can be used.
So, if using wire, what is the objective for the levers, is it to hold
them in or out? Right now there is play between the engagement thrust plate
mechanism and the 3 PTO release levers on the clutch. Also looking at the
clutch I don't see any place to put the wire.
The other issue I have is, the manual says the PTO unit needs to be removed.
Instructions are to Unbolt drawbar from PTO, then remove PTO unit and pull
PTO shaft rearward until it clears clutch.
I don't see anything from this repair manual or the Case IH parts web page
that gives a description for a PTO drawbar.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

There are a lot of things in the various service manuals on David Browns that just don't make sense.

I have never wired up a DB clutch, ever. You have to pull the pack apart to get to the traction clutch disc once it is out anyway, so why would you bother?

They also tell you that you have to remove the PTO box and pull the cardan shaft out the back. No need to. If you have a reversible shaft PTO, just make sure it is in gear before splitting so the pto engagement gear doesn't fall out. BY drawbar they are talking about the frame that supports the drawbar.

Listen to RG. The I+T manuals are handy and readily available, but they aren't as good as the DB manuals. You may find some info in this link- https://sites.google.com/site/deerebrown/
