1290 and JT Plow

I tried out my new to me tractor and plow combo today. Soil conditions are just to moist and mellow on my farm fields to get a land polish on the mold boards. I just could not get it to scour properly this spring. It has not turned over soil in over 30 years and I buffed on them to get them as smooth as possible but that still was not enough. Will try again in the fall when conditions are generally drier and firmer. I am convinced after getting the plow operating properly this will be great tillage team. This is the first time I have been able to use the 1290 for field work. I am impressed, it is a very handy and gutsy little tractor. I look forward to spending more seat time operating it. Rod.

You might try playing with it in a gravel pit. However in your area you might have to drive a long way to find one.

Fine looking equipment pair there Rod. I bet it was kind of fun to plow with that tractor. Looking forward to the Fall plowing pics.

I keep learning more things about Case Co. Thanks for showing, I had no idea they produced a 2 bottom semi mount. Rod.

I have heard the 4/55s existed in a 1290, but have never seen one in person. Mine has the 4/49. I have also heard the changeover happened during the 1294 run when they ran out of 990 crankshafts.

Either way the blocks, heads and rods are the same parts, just change the crank and pistons to get more displacement.
