MFWD no disconnect?

My brother was telling me about a Case model that has MFWD with no way to shift it out for road travel, and thus having problems with front axles and such. Does such an animal exist? Or is this just a wives tale? Or had a way to shift them out as a later update for them. I think the model is something like a 94 model not sure if this is right like a 2394 or such in the 200 HP range. Have found some for reasonable prices. Just want to know about this issue.

Thats the design for all the 3394 and 3594 tractors but if the tires are sized properly it is not an issue. Many are at or over the 10k hour range with no front axle issues. The smaller tractors 2090, 2290, 2294 I have seen several hydraulic front drive wheels that can be disengaged. But the factory units were mfwd all the time. I would not be worried about the front axle

On the 32,33 and 3594 tractors Case promoted their Constant Traction system. On the 3294 tractors they wanted to make sure the front axle could not be disengaged. They needed a 160 hp MFD tractor to compete with others on the market at that time. The 33 and 3594 tractors were not ready for production yet so they took a 2290 MFD drivetrain and installed a 2390 engine to have a MFD tractor with a 160 hp goal. Theory was with the MFD pulling all the time the 130 hp 2290 final drive would live with the 160 hp engine. Case did NOT recommend the use of dual rear tires on those tractors because of the extra load they might cause on the rear final drive. Case discontinued production of the 3294 when the 33 and 3594 models were ready. The idea must have worked because they stayed with the no disconnect MFD on the later 33 and 3594 models. Dual tires were permitted on those 2 models. It was the David Brown people that took the 20 and 2290 tractors and designed the MFD system for those models. MFD was very popular overseas at the time and they needed tractors to compete in their marketplace. The DB people designed a mechanical shift in or out drive system into the MFD used on those models. Case continued the use of that system when they began selling those MFD models in the US market. Rod.

What were the correct tire sizes and were any of them with rear tires of the 42 inch size? What size tires were on the front for the 42's then? Some I have seen advertised were on 42's and some on 38's Was there a difference other than paint between the 32 & 3594 models?

Rod is correct. There is a service bulleton with a formula to check rolling radias of front and rear tires and adjust air pressure up or down to get the correct lead for front axle. if this is down right the tires will wear even and the tractor will pull well.

I might have some sales literature that lists the available tire sizes for those models, but just off hand I have no idea. The 3294 and 3594 are totally different models regardless of paint colors.
