just wondering why no pump pressure when levers are pulled. nothing there. checked oil and its running out of plug. unless pump is shot or ? just asking before i get time to look at it. i presume diff and hyd. use the same oil?

Brad is correct, hydraulic sump is separate from differential. You are going to have to remove the pump from the casting, It is chain driven with a disc that engages the pump with the pto driven chain. But if you have a book you already know all this. Complete pump failure probably not, they get weak, but still pump as long as they are spinning. Of course I could be wrong on all of this, been a few years since I removed replaced worked on the hydraulic pump. gobble

Hi-profile 7-830 would have a common sump...dipstick in front of the seat. Since he mentioned full at the check plug can assume older lo-profile tractor. Have to look in a manual as the pump may be chain driven.

Red: If your 730 is a '63, the hyd's & tranny share the same oil. Oil needs to be Hy-Tran or a quality Transmission-Hydraulic Oil equivalent. Not straight hydraulic oil. That said, there could be several things wrong. There is a thick rubber washer between the pump intake & manifold that could be disintegrated so there is no suction. The pump input shaft drives through a coupling that could be broken, or the relief valve could be stuck open or have a broken spring. You can check that w/out removing the pump. I'd inspect that 1st. It's under that big cap nut on top of the pump. Good luck.

thanks john, now i have something to go by. just busy seeding so gonna check it out once i get a chance. its the high profile. i have no manual , just kinda ended up with this 730.
