Case 770 distributor

I am looking to find the centrifugal advance springs for a Prestolite ibt 4402A 11B distributor. Case 251B engine. case part # A24778 is for both springs, which is no longer available. Messick's tried to find, no luck. My local auto electic shop can get the lighter spring; the heavier spring is the one i need as it is streeched out. Anyone have any places that might have these springs ? Thanks, Terry

I'd try a speed shop, those springs used to come in a six spring kit for the Delco V-8 distributor. They can be mixed to get the advance curve you want on the distributor test machine. I remember getting some from NAPA years ago, but not sure if they have them now.

Go to summit racing dot com and search distributor advance spring. Might have to order some and hope you can match some up

That spring set part nr shows up in many different parts catalogs for Case equipment. Must be someone has the original or aftermarket set,

I would try Jean Claude Marleau, L'Orignal, Ontario [email protected] 613-632-9445 for an obsolete part like that.
