2390 power shift problem going from Reverse to 1st

I have a 2390 that locks in Reverse.... no matter the range... shifts fine through all 3 fwd power shifts but if you shift it into reverse it requires an engine shut down to get it out of reverse..... any tips would be appreciated.

It is probably not going all the way into reverse causing the reverse lockout to hang up. With the tractor running put it in reverse. Now take your hand and hit the lever toword
the rear to go farther into reverse. Now see if it shift back to first. if it will shift now you just need to adjust the cable. If the lever does not move smooth and easy you will
need to replace the cable. Let us know if this works. Stan

In addition to what was mentioned, if the lube pressure is not dropping when the clutch pedal is pushed it can hold he reverse lockout spool engaged, put a pressure gage in the lube port and watch the pressure with the clutch pushed, if the pressure is not dropping fully maybe the clutch spooi is not stroking fully, if it is not there is a stop bolt on the clutch pedal that hits the firewall , run the bolt in until it no longer hits the firewall with the clutch pushed down, then back out till it just stops the pedal, the only reason I recommend this is that you posted that it will come out with the engine shut off, with the engine off lube pressure will be non existent. I have had many as the other poster mentioned needing a cable adjustment.
