Experimental 110 hp Case LAI

Someone mentioned down below about JD using a Case LA with a Detroit for testing. Here it is. Case LAI with a 4-71 putting out around 110 hp. They tested this tractor against a Wagner TR-9 not too far away from here back in the day. This tractor eventually led to the development of the 8010 and 5010/20 tractors.

They did a nice neat looking job. Some of those converted LAs left a lot to be desired styling wise.

I agree. I have a neighbor with a LA equipped with a 4-53. Whoever did the conversion did a nice job because its a really clean looking tractor.

A friend of Mine once had a Case LA with a 549 IH truck engine in it -- He said it was close to 200 HP -- He pulled a 5 bottom plow with little effort until it pulled the chain drive to pieces -- It went to the iron pile after that! Roy
