I have not been following the original post, but there was a HESS BROTHERS dealership in Foraker IN (sw of South Bend) until the late mid '80's

I do have both dealers listed, but always gain additional information from postings like yours. Schroeder Implement became a lawn and garden dealer as Sussex became a suburb of Milwaukee. Their website says the business is shut down now. It was operated out of a renovated dairy barn and was once on the edge of town. I didn't know that Kohl was a Chevy dealer as well.
