David Brown 3800

I have a David Brown 3800 that up to this year has given me no problems. This year we have replaced the hydraulic pump and now the mechanic tells me that i need a draft control valve as mine is damaged. Does anyone know where i can get one or what other David Brown models will fit. I believe someone told me the 770 or 780 were similar. Any information would be appreciated. This is my go to tractor for feeding round bales in winter.

All the 3 position selectamatic valves are the same.

Unless it was deeply pitted from sitting for years with water in it, I have never seen one that couldn't be repaired by basic removal and cleaning and freeing up the valves. I have heard rumor of one of the sleeves coming loose and requiring a dose of loctite, but not experienced it myself.

If your 3 point was recently working, your valve is probably better than any you will find for sale.
