1961 Case 530CK Bendix Power Steering Not Working?

I have a 1961 Case 530CK with the Bendix single power steering cylinder in front of the axle .Can someone with a working tractor verify the correct location of the power steering hoses, they are all the same size fittings so can be installed wrong. I have the remote reservoir with the connection block under it, the front reservoir hose goes to the upper fitting on the pump, the back reservoir hose goes to the right fitting on the cylinder, the left (wheel side )fitting on the cylinder goes to the lower fitting on the pump. Are these locations right ? I tried swapping the hoses on the cylinder side to side but it still does not work? The pump seems to be working, when I started the engine with the reservoir top removed a fountain of oil sprayed up. I replaced the cylinder spool O-ring seals and the cylinder ram looks to be a replacement, it is a brown primer color. the spool nut pin was broken, I replaced with a section of 1/8 drill bit as recommended and screwed in all the way in and backed out about half a turn ? Thanks for your help

I am not really up on 530ck but I was under the impression that ck had hydrostatic steering.

The single Bendix cylinder in front of the axle was used on the early 530 utility tractors.

Do you have one of these two systems?

To determine supply/return for Bendix cylinders pull hoses, supply to control valve is the port where you can see relief valve threads. I think all Case tractors the supply/return is per the last pic.

The lower diagram is closest to what I have. Does the cylinder supply line attach to the top port on the pump ? Thanks for your help Joe

I don't know the 530 pump or system connections. Click on the 1st link for the site I got the diagrams and check the piece nrs that shows the p/n and routing on the parts list. As far as I can make out it looks like this:

Let me know how you make out. When the hoses are connected we can stroke the cylinder manually if necessary, try to isolate the problem.

The site has pop up adds that can be a pain but it has the original Case parts catalogs. 530CK parts catalog should be on this site also if you want to hunt for it.

The official Caseih Construction equipment parts site is the 2nd link, it will have 530CK also in the later version with less detail than the original Case part catalog.

wore out, If that is true they are doing exactly what goggle, facebook, twitter, and a few hundred other domestic and foreign sites are doing. They can get the same information of me that this site can get if they wanted to do so. You are very computer nave if you don't know that.

Did you find the information you needed for your power steering? I am looking for info on my power steering as well. I have a 1963 Case 530ck , so I am told with a power steering setup simular to the top pic
you posted as well. The only difference is one of the fluid lines that goes to the cylinder connects directly without a solid line and the other rubber hose connects to a solid line that is clamped to the
cylindar. I am curious what model 530ck you have. Without any serial or model numbers anywhere on the tractor I am struggling to find the model I have so I can purchase the manuals for it.

No I did not get the power steering to work? do not know what to try? I routed the hoses as in the diagram ? Mine has no serial number plate, I estimated it to be a 1961 from the casting dates of later half of 1960 on several parts of the tractor, transmission, cylinder head and inside the wheel rims. Mine has a model 31 loader and 31 backhoe

This is not true PS, it is steering assist meaning the tractor needs to be traveling to be effective and it is very effective if working properly.

The original grease zerk (3) located under the ball stud had a very short thread. If the zerk has be replaced with the more common longer thread zerk it can push up on the inner sleeve (10) binding up the ball stud & seats so when you turn the steering wheel the drag link just leans the ball stud over rather than sliding the actuator to stroke the spool.

Take the drag link and dust cover off the ball stud. Jack up the front to take the weight off the wheels. With the engine rpm up some to provide pump pressure stroke the actuator in each direction with a screwdriver at the ball stud seats. Attention to the fact that the actuator is actually sliding smoothly to stroke the spool and any sound that indicates the engine is loading when you stroke. Hopefully you grease the actuator parts well on reassembly, if not might try squirting plenty of oil in there.

Part of the confusion here is that is no CK tractor designation, as you folks have discovered that utility axle is shown in the 530 AG tractor parts book. The CK series started with the steel wrap around structure where the upswept loader frames bolted directly to the heavy steel wrapper that protects the radiator. You may still have SN plates that identify the number designation given those units. The basic tractor is a 530 AG with flanged rear axles and the heavy utility front end. I would suspect as a utility it has the 3 range transmission with a mechanical shuttle.
