Just checking Dieseltech or anyone in the
know. On the 900 Diesel we were discussing
below, the plate on the in line pump is
the one next to the block, not on the end
say next to the starter? Looks kinda hard
to deal with with the pump on, but can be
Im sure. Just wanting to make sure.

This is the tractor that was setting for a
few years and is running full throttle.
Not running away, but just full throttle
and missing on about 2 cylinders. Thanks

So it looks like by the manual I need to set the timing to 30 deg TDC on #1 and then check to see if the pump marks line up before removing the pump? Or just get the pump marks lined up alone and then pull the pump? Thanks - Bob

Get the PUMP marks aligned first, then check the crankshaft mark. Pump turns 1/2 engine speed, so setting the CRANK mark first the pump mark has a 50/50 chance of being in the window. Adjust as needed when pump is back on by rotating the pump housing.
