I recently bought a 1979 2290 with anti freeze in the oil pan to replace my 1070 with a bad power shift , I figured it was quicker and more in my wheel house to rebuild the engine, no 3-4-6 sleeves have antifreeze drops hanging off them ,I think the O rings let go , anyway the hour meter shows 31XX hrs they say they are original my ?? is what brand of tires were installed at the factory , the tires on it are 18.4-38 all traction lug, they are long bar short bar, the name brand seems to have been sanded off,but the american flag was left , they are about 30% left, I thought that if they were original, the hrs were maybe right. The appearance of the tractor over all is very nice. Thanks Bryan

I bought a new 1979 2290 that came with Goodyear 18.4-38 back tires and 11.00 3 rib Goodyears on front. The back ones were bias tires, I think they were called Dynatorque. They were good tires, I finally replaced them with the same type when the tractor had around 4000 hrs. It had factory duals but oddly they were B F Goodrich tires, likely put on bare rims by the selling dealer.

Talk of the Town: Miracle Formula for a Stuck Engine - by Edited by Kim Pratt. Another great discussion from the Tractor Talk Discussion Forum. The discussion started out with the following post: I have a stuck 4 cylinder engine. Two pistons right at the top, other two down. From underneath everything looks good. Up top looks bad. Thanks in advance."
