VAC carb

Grandpa is working on a VAC. It's got a
Marvel carburetor and I see YT sells
several different kits. He hasn't really
found any model numbers for this
carburetor so I'm not sure which kit to
get him. I can't get the photos to load
sorry..Thanks for any help

If you have an O'Reilly's auto parts store take the carb to the store and have them compare gaskets sizes and you will have the correct kit. They sell a walker brand kit and each kit has 2 gaskets in them one for 2 different size carbs. M/S makes 4 carbs. Small medium large and extra large. Yes there is more to them then that but for th gasket there the same as if the needle seat etc.
 
If it is the original and is a Marvel Schebler it will be either a TSX114 or a TSX597. Both use the same kit. There were a few that came with Zenith carbs but not many. If it is a Zenith let me know and I will look up the number for it.
 
Nice thing is once you have one kit there is enough gasket to do 2 carbs. Each kit has 2 carb gaskets so match up the right size gasket and you have the kit that will work for around $25. Taking an educated guess I's say you need a 778-505 carb kit. That is the O'Reilly's part number for the Walker brand kits they sell
 
If the carb is factory it will most likely be TSX114 like this pic although TSX597 is pretty common as previously mentioned. Tag is usually riveted on the blind side of the choke pivot.
