Fuel tank separation plates

My DC came with these two plates that sit on the supports for the tank. Then the gas tank is set on top of those. I see nothing in my parts book that indicates that they originally came with the tractor. Are any other fellows out there using or have these on their D or DC. Curious minds want to know. My 52 DC has something similar. I think one of them is slotted so it can slide around the sediment bowl instead of going on before the bowl.

They would cradle and collect dust and cause rust
holes in the gas tanks. Many were removed
because they really weren't necessary. I always cut
thin strips of rubber from old tire inner tube to stick
between the metal but they actually had pieces of
belting material in the cradle of the tanks. I try to
avoid metal on metal around the gas tanks for any
model.
