DC in Stanley WI

Does anyone know anything about the DC engine on the crude oil pump off of HWY 29 in Stanley WI? It is fenced off and looks to be a part of the towns history. I would like to find out more about it. It has the cast rears hubs on it and looks like it would power the oil pump like a pitman would be attatched to it. Interesting. Bill

There are a few of those around. I've seen those and Allis and farmall M and H's set up like that, especially Oklahoma. Many still running. Wherever the electricity is too far away they got creative with power.
