430/188D oil pressure

My diesel (188d) starts and runs fine, but I just finally received my new oil pressure gauge and hooked it up but I don't seem to have enough pressure to bleed tube for it, taking the line off on the block reveals the oil just oozing out, does not seem to be near enough....any advice where to start would be good :)

The oil pump first, check the relief plunger for stuck open, Those engines carry high oil pressure, my gut says pump, look for bushing and housing wear while you are there, make sure the keys in the pump shaft are ok, stick something between the gears in the pump and try to turn the gears with a little force. I would think if wear was causing it it would have better oil pressure hot than cold.

BTW, You do not need to bleed the pressure tube. compressed air and oil will measure the same , the gauge don't care. One other thing , it would be a long shot but check the block fitting to make sure it's open.

the first thing I did...lol and it seems to be fine

ok so i have the oil pump out and I took out the relief spring and cup on the back...it looks like there is a small piston or valve at the bottom but it wont move....and on that side of the casing there are two holes one has an expansion plug in it the other one doesn't...can anyone explain the operation to me so I can fix it or any ideas would be good.

(quoted from post at 12:56:52 01/30/21) Oh and if that is a stuck valve how do I get it out safely...ideas?
Well I have it, thanks for the help, sometimes you just sit back, smoke a doob and say what the hell...lol....manged to free the relief valve, clean the bore and re assemble, no one had the right flat presser plug but I did find a half inch cup style with a dome top so i ground down the sides and bob would be my uncle...lol...so I found I bought the wrong pressure gauge as well it is only scaled to sixty pounds and is pined at all times so I would say I have pressure and need a better scaled gauge ..lol...live and learn, my first case and having a blast :)
