Opinion on a Case/IH 585

Does anybody here have any experience with a Case/IH 585? My son-in-law's father is looking at one for woods duty and food plot work. Nothing very heavy. Any weak areas or hard starting in cold weather? Thanks! Don

Overall a great tractor. They do have some weaker points though. Also there are several transmission options available. They are cold blooded, I have a 485 and like it to be plugged in whenever the temperature is at or below freezing. Most of them came equipped with an ether injector that works well. The tractor is easily driven with the handbrake on and they are a bit of a job to change so most don’t have a working hand brake. Clutches don’t have the longest life but are fairly easy to change. I like mine, a lot. Good luck.
