Progress on the 400

Worked on the 400 some this weekend. Sure did try my patience with the sleeves. First I found two from the original engine cracked around the top o-ring groove.

I haven't come across anyone else who has seen that either. But I had some sleeves and pistons from a 1030 that I saved so I used those. But on those I found two so far out of round they wouldn't even drop in the lower bore. One was corroded on the top from a leaky head gasket. And one was cracked around the top flange. So I was lucky to find two usable sleeves. They are worn less than the original ones. After all that and getting them honed nice I finally got that part done.

I got the heads on too.

See anything odd there? I did get the injectors in and all the plumbing done too. Hopefully next weekend I'll get the oil pan in and the new water pump in and get it running. Sure hope that's the last time I have to go into this engine.
