930, few questions.

I posted a picture of the neighbors 930 with factory cab a few years ago, and I've always thought it was neat as its about the only one with a factory cab in the area. Well late this summer after a bit of rain my dad calls and asks if I want another 930, and proceeds to tell me the neighbor wanted it gone so if I was interested I should call him. I talked with him about it and he told me what was wrong with it and that he had just gotten it running that morning if I wanted to look it over. The main issue being the clutch was stuck. I gave dad a call and we looked it over, well used, but well maintained. I asked what he wanted and he said to take the damn thing. I said I couldn't do that so he said $500 then and I agreed. He even said he would drive it over after he gets his cab cleaned out.
After he delivered it I gave it a thorough run through and went to work on the clutch. I have a 4894 parked in the yard and a big tow rope, which was the deadman. I found out 4th gear was the trick, drawbar to drawbar, start in gear and send it. After stalling it and digging holes all over my yard, it popped free on the 8th try. I used it around for a few days moving hay and finding any other issues it had. The top bushing was gone from the steering column, tie rod ends, some wiring issues, and a fuel tank leak. When I pulled the steering wheel off I found out who ever was in there before ruined the threads and splines of the steering shaft.
So after all that, my question is does anyone have a steering shaft they would want to part with? Just the top part. Im also looking for a fuel tank. I included a couple pics of it.
I am also wondering what the factory cabs had for insulation. I can't find any pictures on the interwebs on what they looked like new, and there is nothing in there now. Its quite the echo chamber.

Forgot to say that the only insulation in those cabs was in the ceiling. The black cab 1" insulation will do the job. Have a factory cab on my 1030 and was always going to do the sides with the cab insulation to see how much difference it made.

You got a great deal on that 930. On your fuel tank leak, if it is leaking out the edge seam it would be hard to repair. We had a good tank with a nasty gash where someone had backed into something pretty sharp. Our local welding shop cut out the bad area and replaced it with a patch piece that saved the tank for use on the 1030. Don

I know the photo doesn't show it well, but the fuel tank is damaged pretty good. It used to have a hydraulic fold 3pt bale spear on it and its been stabbed through the tank more than once. Its been patched with something but still seeps. It is also really deformed in that area. It seems to be any 930 or 1030 I've seen with a 3pt has a dent in the fuel tank somewhere.

I bet just having something on the ceiling would help. I have to patch a swamp cooler hole first. I might try some kind of floor mat or isolating the platform with rubber if I can to see if that helps.
