which was the most popular, the 930 or the 1030?
were they basically the same tractor with the engine turned up on the 1030, or completley different?
does any one have any stories about them?
there were just a few case tractors in my neighbor hood,
but a friend of my family were case people, they always bragged about their 930 diesel , row crop,
they were one one the first to use a chisel plow, and talked abuot how the 930 pulled it,
they even used it in tractor pulls! of course this was back in the late60s and early70s,
before the 930 they had a dc, and 400, and a farmall m, so it was a big step up!

whats your case 930/1030 story?
thanks

It is almost 7 am and I am on my way to look at/buy a 930. A yter saw my post about trying to get a complete set of 30 series. I have a 530, 730 and 1030. Hopefully in 1 hour I am the owner of a 930 with factory cab. I worked on a dairy farm back in the 80's that had an open station 930 as the big tractor. They did all of the chopping and tillage with it. My post yesterday about 830s with factory cabs was to ask the experts if Case ever had one. I wonder if a 9/1030 cab would fit on a 830 comfort king. I will reply when I get back if I bought it or not. This time I did tell my wife that I was going to look at one. Her response was " Did you ever go and look at a Case tractor without buying it". My response " ONCE". Gotta go! Bill

That's a good track record Bill,lol.
As for 30series tractors,my dad says they we're the best all around,he hated the 70 series.Hope your collection is closer to complete.then you can work on gas/diesel matches, then narrow/wides,and,and,and.......

The 930 was by far more popular, but also produced for twice as many years as the 1030. The 930 Comfort Kings had 401 cubic inches and the 1030 had 451. The 930 and 730 are twins and the 830 and 1030 are twins-engine wise. We had a 930CK with no 3 point hitch for many years and it was our all-around chore tractor. Corn planting, corn picking, round baling, hauling manure, etc. 1000's of hours. Not a very good puller or good in mud, though. Overall a very good machine, we just plain wore it out. I still remember the day we traded in a DC and 830 COM for the 930 and a new 1070. Talk about an upgrade. Don

I have one of each, ,930 and 1030.

930 gets a lot of time on manure spreader duty these days

1030 has always been the favourite for hauling forage wagons
Both tractors are very interchangeable really. And I am not asking either of them for their maximum power doing the jobs I have for them. Toughest work they ever have had is pulling a 18 foot vibrashank cultivar, both tractors handled it equally as well

Yes and I even bought the wife a manure spreader. You know the guy I bought them from. Lives south of me about an hour just off the interstate.

I am trying to have a load of Case at the Valmy show. BTW, one of your members drives for me. Justin H. Call me sometime. 9 seven 3 - 67 two nine Bill

I grew up running a 1030, Dad got it in 1983 and we used it until 1995 for tillage, haying and feeding cattle. Good tractor, we did have to work on the transmission and rear end a few times, and we swapped out a few piston sleeves over the years also. Pulled a 14' chisel and ran a 96 pull type combine with it and a lot of baling. It replaced the 900 and dc dad had previously used.
