Did Case ever put a cab on the 830? I have never seen one, just wondering. Bill

So it may be possible that the cab I have seen on this particular 730 originated on a six cylinder tractor and was removed and later put on the 730, if so I wonder how they took care of the gas cap to avoid having the filler in side the cab.

CASE never offered a factory installed cab for the 730/830,, I was told they may have offered one for the Canada models but only on the std version and not row crop models,, I do not have any lit or parts books to prove that though, there was many brands of aftermarket ones available here though and we sold almost every 830 we sold new with a cab on them,, here we sold Egging's as they were not far for us to go pick up at the factory and saved a good amount of money installing them compared to say a Cozy cab,, we also felt tey were a good built cab and sold lots of them new on 830/930/1030's Third Party Image they were just like this one I have installed new on this 67 830 com dsl,

The 730 I am referring to has a Case Factory cab like I have seen on 1030's.

Third Party Image
I don’t have any idea who put the cab on, but I bet the dealership that sold the tractor new probably did. I bought this 830 in November. And in all honesty, the cab looks far better than the experience of riding in the tractor is. I am trying to decide if I should leave it on, or pull it off. Compared to a modern cab, it’s like sitting in a barrel, with someone beating on the outside of the barrel with a plow. A rattling, vibrating torture chamber. And if you look at the picture closely, you can see there is an extension on the exhaust pipe but not long enough to get the diesel exhaust over the cab. And the vent just sucks the fumes back into the cab.

Putting a longer extension might help with the noise along with REALLY good ear protection. I know for sure I wouldn't be removing that cab if I lived where you do.

Bruce, you should put an old piece of rain gutter downspout on that tractor as an exhaust riser upper device. That would look good. No need to thank me, just trying to be helpful. Bill

1972, when I started working at an AC dealer, I think was the year the 200 replaced the 190XT. It was available with a factory cab, and they were quite popular. The other tractor which sold well was the 185. There was demand for a cab so we installed aftermarket cabs on new tractors. No AC on the smaller AC though! Winter time tractors!

I know where there is a 730 Comfort King with a factory cab. It was first seen in Orange City IA and now on an acreage that I pass by from time to time still earning its keep.
