Case 831C Hydraulic Transmission Fluid

My tractor is a 1964 Case 831C with a Case-O-Matic and Eagle Claw hitch. I have drained the hydraulic/transmission fluid from the Case-O-Matic, transmission and the hydraulic pump / pto in the rear. I have cleaned and replaced the filters for the Case-O-Matic and the rear hydraulic pump / pto. My questions; 1) Is there a filter for the transmission and if so where is it located? 2) Where is the fill plug for the rear hydraulic pump / pto and how do you check for the correct fill level?

I think the fill is the breather on top of the transmission, but
not real sure. The level should be a plug on the right side of
the housing behind the axle, just a small 1/4" plug. The filter
will be a washable filter behind the cover with 3 bolts on the
lower right side and back, below the pto and above the hitch
angle. Just wash it in gas or something. The com should have
one too.

I have a dipstick for the Case-O-Maic and one the transmission. Is the transmission and the hydraulic pump / pto in the same volume of hydraulic fluid? Does the transmission dipstick work for both the transmission and the hydraulic pump / pto in the rear? Are there only two hydraulic/transmission fluid filters on this tractor?

The 830 transmission/rear end/hydraulic are all common and
use the same oil and fill in one spot. You can't change the
filters with oil in them tho, so do it while the oil is drained. The
com is separate and should have either red transmission fluid,
which is what they came with, or some recommend real case
hytran. Either works good.

The early 830 had a hyd system separate from the transmission like the 800 and big 400. Later they came with a trans and hyd system that used the transmission as a reservoir for the hyd.I have two 830's an early single stick shifter with split systems and a later double stick with the single reservoir. Both are low profile or as some say low tin with eagle hitch.
