Early 930's, as all the previous 6 cyl's using the wet clutch, do not have a rear crankshaft seal. However, the 1st 930 Comfort King's 6 sp. use a rear crank seal. I just discovered this. Anyone know what's up w/ that?

The 1963 930 Comfort King that we had when I was a kid had no rear main seal. Would not make any difference if it was there or not. Oil gets in there through the hole in the crankshaft, and gets out through the drain hole between the bell housing bolts.

I quit asking questions like that. Engineers often do things like that because they lost their ability to think rationally

Of course maybe they had a pandemic in 1962 while they were designing that portion Lol.

Just kidding I have no idea.
