Has anyone else seen this. This is the only one I’ve ever seen on a true Case tractor. Maybe a dealer addition. Tony

I worked at a Case dealer when the 90 series came out so we had a lot of 70 series in the shop. I do not recall ever seeing that decal on a 70 series, but it has been many years.

Tony, all CASE and David Brown AG production tractors in 1973 had the decals it was part of the purchase agreement CASE made with the Queen to be able to get the sale of DB finalized,, the one on the DB's were red in color though,, the same red DB used on their mufflers prior to the color change of January 1974, good to see you post been wondering how things were down in south Texas!!

Tom we are doing ok down here. It’s been over 100 degrees for more than a month and terribly dry. Hope all’s well up there and y’all are healthy . I’ve heard y’all are dry too. We made one good cutting of hay but there won’t be any more. There won’t be any grazing going into winter if we don’t get some moisture this month but everyone is healthy. Tony

Yupper and is a 1973 model just like this 1070, kinda helps to know this as fact when you sold them new at the time

this decal was only used in 1973 also

Here in Europe I have seen some 90-series with a small David Brown decall.

I find it funny to see how some people look at the DB involvement in the Case scene. I'm also active on David Brown forums and there is sometimes a slight anti-Case sentiment amongst 'true David Brown enthousiast', equal to some sentiments against DB I find around here.

Myself, I have both Case and David Brown tractors (2294 and 1394) and they both have there pro's and cons. They are not in any way comparable to each other than they share the same 94 series designation. I love them both, each in there own way.

Interesting read

Now I know what year my 1270 is.

We sold LOTS of DB's and owned them before we were a Case dealer and Case purchased them,, Damn Good units I own a 380CK today,, I also have put thousands of hours on a 1212 and a pile on 885's, we as a dealer was Happy abou the two coming together, I would have rather seen them continue to build the 770 and 870 Case as well as the 1210/1212/1410/1412 though,, we sold far more DB's than we ever did 430/470/530/570's even though they were very good tractors, I would love to find a nice 1390/1490 with cab and a/c someday,, I have very few things to complain about with any of the ones we sold from 71 through 76, now the pile of junk ih units I have plenty to say bad things about,, other than I put three kids and two grand children through school repairing them in my shop,, always something shot on them with their built in defects, for me Case other than the CE side Died the day they bought bankrupt and dead ih

I see the same thing with some of the local Oliver collectors. My Oliver 500 was built by David Brown based on their 850 model. At a couple local shows, I've run into folks that will say "well that's not a real Oliver" and they kind of turn their noses up at it.

I always wanted a few Oliver's in my collection as my Moms Dad first tractors were Hart Parrs then Oliver's, the 500 Oliver I always kind of wanted because it was a DB made unit,, I do have a very well used 70 STD he had,, but the engine was locked tight long before i could have a say in it,, and last I checked the sleeves and pistons alone was more than I could buy another for,, but it would not be the same

So what year tractors used the cast front grill? I remember in high school around 86 or 87 the local case dealership (Mickelson Eqiupement, Aberdeen SD) sold out with a public auction, and there were probably 30 or so cast front grills laying out in the iron pile out back. Did people replace the cast ones with the fiberglass ones? I would think the cast ones would be better, especially for loader work.

69 and 70 models only,, that was also only on 6 cylinder units as the 4 cylinder 770/870 models always had a fiberglass nose cone,, of course the 1270/1370 and 1570 always had fiberglass also as the 1270/1370 was not released until late 1971 after the change already happened, I changed a few out to cast and you many have as you have a hard time finding a cast one any more,, they bolt right on after removing the extra supports they installed for the fiberglass,, loader work is hard on the fiberglass ones for sure
