1967 930 CK 6 Sp Shift Pattern (Broken Indicator)

I'm dealing with a neighbor on a '67 930CK 6 Speed but it hasn't been driven by him and we can't figure out how to shift gears. It's that odd no-logic (seeming) pattern with a curved stick shifter but no indicator (likely broken off of the shifter). We can get into a couple forward gears and Reverse. Perhaps the hand clutch needs adjusting? Or is there a trick we're missing? Thanks.

Neutral is in the center as you probably figured. Top gears you pull the stick to the rear and go left or right for gears. Bottom gears on
the quadrant you push the stick forward and go left or right. Sometimes you need to let the clutch out to match the gears before they will go
in. Easy after you figure the stick moves the opposite of what you would think when in neutral.

Without the indicator, it is quite difficult to find the gear you are looking for! The one on mine broke off and I found it extremely
frustrating to try and operate without it. I soon repaired it.

Thanks for both replies. I took that info and fiddled with the gears. It seemed it needed to be taken out on the road a bit and cleaned up a bit and it went into all gears. And, yes, its a bit of a trick to figure out the pattern without the indicator but I'm sailing now.
