Needing some help with a transmission in 4894. The local dealer is absolutely no help as they tell me most the parts I need are not available and after they redid there website I can't even get part numbers to look for them .I need some thrust washers that go on the intermediate shaft in the tranny , I found 2 broken washers on the screen in the bottom of tranny,I am able to come up with sizes and am wondering if I could just have some made out of brass or some other metal and put those in ? As these seem to be some sort of composite material. I also seen on some site where it sounded like someone had a similar problem with thrust washers in a Magnum and they just left the washers out and it didn't seem to bother .I was just wondering if anyone here has had experience with the trannys in these tractors . Thank you!! Randy

Randy: That is the big pain with the new site. Without the numbers, obsolete or not, dealer inventory can't be searched, nor the Depot. The parts book lists 6 different thrusts, depending on where they are, and the thickness needed. The Service Manual & feeler gauge will tell what thickness you need. Parts Depot where we get parts shows about 20 different OEM thrusts in stock. $$$$

Thanks John for the info , I did get the part numbers for 2 of the washers and also the thickness of the other one ,I have to say that Caseih hasnt won many freinds with there new and improved online parts lookup, I cant understand there thinking that since they dont have the part no one else needs the number either.Oh well I will survive this is just frustrating
