Case terratrace 320 Carb issues

Hello much smarter people then me... I am having a struggle with a carb on my old doser and I am trying to purchase a replacement. the model number tag on the Card in TSX937 and I can only seem to find replacements for TSX936 ... now does anyone one if these are close enough to work? From the pictures the linkage looks to be on the right proper side and they look very similar...

What happens with carb is fuel just runs right out of it non-stop.
I have installed a carb kit and have adjusted the floats higher and higher ..way past the proper setting of a 1/4 inch... so it will go from too much fuel to no fuel ...

any advice would be super appreciated ... seems these things break when you need the machine :(

You can try removing the bottom half by removing the load screw and taking out the four screws holding the two halves together and then remove the float and needle and then the needle seat that screws into the top and look for crap and maybe the fitting that the gas line screws onto. You may have to just go through the complete disassembly and cleaning again being careful to not tear a gasket. If it was easy anybody could do what we do.

There is only one path to flood a carb that is via the needle valve/seat that BarryfromIA cited. If the floats are
properly adjusted, intact (not flooding), or hanging on the carb body, then the fault is invariably leaking
needle/seat. Check the gasket under the seat.

Is your gas tank reasonably clean? Check the sediment bowl for particles that might pass the screen and lodge in the
needle/seat.

Check that the floats are adjusted, both the same height and entire length parallel with the carb top gasket (pic).
Floats can fracture from things like backfire. They usually crack along the seam and nearly invisible. To check for
cracks put the float in the freezer several hours, take out and submerge in very warm water. The cold, dense air in
the floats will heat up and form tiny bubbles along the crack line. If in doubt or the tangs going back over the
needle valve are bent uneven of dented beyond salvage buy a new float.

The link has TSX carb info, servicing, and adjustment.

Hello guys,

First thank you for the time it took to write your replies. I really appreciate it. :)

Yes myself and my dad (same vintage as the doser) have had it apart numerous times ... and it was originally quite dirty. We cleaned it with a tooth brush and gas and hav it all polished up.

Once we put it back together it still flooded.. basically once you hit the key the electric fuel pump comes on and normally it seemed to me it stops after a few seconds (it may just have changed noise i cant recall 100%) but in this case it just keeps running.

Eventually we did look up the float distance and found it was supposed to be a 1/4 inch and parallel however that would not work. We both agree it has to be the needle and the seat and he actually managed to find another needle that fit and had a rubber end. We tried it and combinations of float adjustment to have a bigger gap and eventually got it run ..also it was running rough and over fueling as indicated by black smoke .. once it warmed it leveled out and I was able to use it for several hours.

I then got a carb kit and we have taken it all apart again and put in all the new pieces, had the floats measure and parallel using the gap tool in the kit and this has made it worse .. i kept bending the floats and it would go from flooding gas to no gas at all with a 1/8 of an inch change with the float gap. At this point it has quite a gap.

My Dad is an old timer with many little tractors and been fixing engines all his life but we cant seem to figure out this seemingly simple carb ..

Fuel tank is clean and the inline filter flows nice as well.

The only other thing I can think is if the electric fuel pump has all of sudden started putting out too much pressure?
Not really sure how much pressure they are supposed to put out but I figure i will kink over the hose and if that stops the pump then is should be ok.

I have since found replacement Zenith Carb here in BC, and have purchased it ..it should be here Friday and I will install it and see how that goes.

Again thank you for all the insight and the link to the manual that is super handy :)
