Can you guess the job by the first pic?

Was cutting hay and the drive chain broke on my 955 swather. Always a nice job to fix.

Did get don't with the hay tho. It's much better than first crop, but still not great. Alfalfa is coming finally, so I thing it will be good next year if it doesn't freeze out.

Hope to get the oats cut tomorrow so I can get the hay bales and oats combined next weekend. Weather looks good til then.

That looks great, the crop I mean, not so much the mess. Cutting with a swather makes cutting fun. The swathers that we’re available through to the 80’s , were great. And that is a very nice Case model. I have both a MF and a JD, and have seen several IH NH and Owanatana as well as a few Versitile swathers of the same vintage. New swathers are just so big and expensive, few guys buy they in my part of the world.

Looks good. For a few years we cut our hay with a 800 Deere 10 ft swather. It did not have a crimper so we tedded the hay with a rotary tedder. We were chopping everything and it worked great. Tom

That brings back horrible memories of an old 280 Hesston swather that I had. Hated that thing until the day I got rid of it.
