401 Fuel in oil

More than likely it is the small seal in the transfer pump on the side of the injection pump. Just did one 2 weeks ago on a 400 Super. It's about a 1 hour job for a novice and requires removing several lines and reconnecting them, which is the worst part of the task. Don

I had that issue also on my Case 400, sent the pump to dieseltech (a contributor to this forum) and all has been well since. Getting the injector lines off the pump is a challenge. I was very paranoid about marking the locations of everything so I could get it back together correctly. Guess it payed off all went well. gobble

Dieseltech is a great guy, but what a waste of time and freight to R&R a pump for an $8.00 seal you can change yourself in less than an hour. kind of like pulling an engine to replace the spark plugs.

John, I've attempted simple fixes and suddenly been up to my butt in alligators so to speak. A spring jumps out, or a tiny silver ball falls out, never to be seen again. That injection pump according to things read on this site no longer has parts available. So understanding MY limitations and paranoia thought it best to send it away. Thank you for your service to the CASE community, I/we appreciate you and Chris. gobble

As others have said, start with the gear pump seal, PK7910 or equal cross. Gear pump will pull out with the two bolts removed and needed lines off. If fuel still gets into the oil then the injection pump seals are next suspect.

Tom: This really is a simple fix. We keep the seals in stock and sell dozens a year. If one has the expertise to R&R the pump, then one has enough expertise to replace that seal, and in less time.
