1170 fuel system

The hand primer won't pump fuel into the filters. I replaced the little plunger pump. Still won't pump. The tank has plenty of fuel in it. When I take the line coming from the tank loose at the primer pump it flows a good stream of fuel. Can there be something wrong in the primer pump? I am stumped! Thank you in advance for any help on this!

That little pump has an inlet valve and an outlet valve, they are under the thin nut on each end of the valve, they can get plugged, you should have good flow out of the disconnected line from the tank, if not you may have an obstruction in the tank fitting, you could blow back through and see if that makes a difference if you do not have a full large stream out of the tank line.

Taking fuel line from tank off is a good first step. With sediment/strainer bowl off still good flow(?), if not have found brass fitting to be plugged w/debris.

I struggled with my 1070 with fuel issues the 1st yr i had it ,.. algae = algaecide in the tank was one reason . those items you mentioned were another ,. the brand new fuel hand pump from my friendly Case Ih dealer leaked horribly from day one . I got my money back Removed the sediment bulb also . keeping the tank full helped alot . So far All iswell , But i will put a electric fuel pump on it in the future ,. My 930 has one that captured all the nasty trash and was easy to clean and maintain .
