What is your favorite little Case and big Case, and why? I will take the VAC and 1030. Vac has guts and he 1030 looks great and has muscle. Bill

I have always thought a 1570 would be a good horse in the field. I dont know much about Fuel economy or reliability but from watching my neighbor work a 1570 it looked like it could out pull the other brands in that horsepower range.
My favorite small Case is my SC of course! I bought a 1070 new in the fall of 74. I really liked it for the low end torque and response doing yard work. It pulled well for its size but it ended up being one of those that turned out to be a lemon. Everyone elses 970-1070 was reliable, mine was in the shop as often as it was in the field.

My favorite little Case, shown haresting in the 50s, was a 38 C Case. Sorry about the quality of the picture. Not its first owner, it worked hard on our farm for another 10+ years starting in the late 40s. Then it retired but stayed in my family for about 65 years.

My other favorite bigger Case is my 1170 shown bailing in 91 which I have had for 40+ years. Today, I took off the push-pull shutoff cable to free it up some. It runs past the hot exhaust manifold and occasional gets hard to move.

I recently saw your tractor line up that you posted. I knew the big one was either a 1175 or a 1170.

My 1170 shown is not white sheet metal as it appears. My camera makes the mix of white and yellow (desert sunset as I remember) look very white.

Someone had painted mine white and then an ugly brown on the hood. I'd like to paint it back to the correct color someday.

Speaking of paint---- For dad's old C shown in my post earlier harvesting in the distance in the 1950s, I painted its total "rust" in the late 1980s. It still looked pretty good in the 2004 picture shown first above being played with and working ground. The second picture above in about 2013, the entire radiator had been thorough an acid bath with good intentions to repaint it.

When I was pushing 80 years old, I found a good home for it in 2017 shown below. It now has another big barn to reside in where three generating are interested in old tractors. Long live my favorite "little" Case and the plow it pulled for many years back in the 1950s!!!!

My cabin fever is treated for the day. LOL

PS: Now that I am pushing 82 years old, my bigger favorite 1170 Case also needs a good home with a barn to continue residing in. It needs a new clutch and a cab interior kit.

My favorite Rock Island tractor would be my 431T I goes down the road like a scart rabbit, and has lot and lots of power.
I have it accessorized like a swiss army knife to carry everything that I need when processing firewood

As far as Racine built tractors I would have trouble deciding between my 1963 831C and my 1969 931 with factory cab.

I like my 1030 for the big tractor. And for the small I want a 530d com some day. Overall favorite big tractor would be 13/1570 or the white and black 23/2594. Those are pretty tractors.

We only had 4 Case tractors. I owned a 6 cyl 500 and a 930CK. It would be very hard to pick which was best of the two. They were both bought used and were excellent tractors. My dad bought a 300 round nose used and a 430 new. It's easy to pick which one of those was most liked. That would be the 300. Excellent smaller tractor. The 430 was the most hated tractor that we ever owned.

I canít pick between my 930 and 1030, almost the same tractors as far as operating goes, and I use mine a fair bit. I have strong attachments to my VA and VAC , dadís tractors, tough little guys. My first tractors when I started farming, a 430 Case gas and a 530 diesel, hand clutch for baler and great little tractors that hold a special place in my memory only. Because being young and hard up, I needed the cash when I bought a bigger 4wd loader and sold them. And my old stand by 730, had cut thousands of acres of hay, and planted a lot of crops too. Ok, I like them all !

For a small tractor, it would have to be the 1930 C my mom's dad boufgt new and that I have owned for 50 years. For a large one a 1951 LA like the one we had on the farm.

Agree. Have the C my dad bought new in 1937 and LA uncle bought new in 1949. Also like chain drive 930 but now hard to find here, when I find a good one I will buy it.

When we were farming with our C doing the heavy work in the 50s, a neighbor had an LA which was by far my favorite BIG tractor at the time.

With over 80 Case tractors and another 30+ lawn tractors it is hard to find one I don't like. Oldest is a 29 L and newest is a 83 4690. All have a place in Case history from the letter series to the 4690. Also Happy 4th of July...

I have only ever owned 3 and driven only a couple others. I like my VAC and my 351. The 351 for its versatility with all the gears and the VAC just because. A 211b would be a lot more usable tractor.

I would have to say vac and 1030ck.Tho my wife prefers the 730 diesel ck that was bought new in 1966. Still like to combine with the 660 and 1160 and have the elevator guy know that the case was used because of the clean sample.

We had a 411B on the farm, COM made it a real tractor for it's size, big tractor, I'm gonna have to go for the 830 Diesel COM although the 970 Diesel Power shift is right close there.

There is a marriage of man and machine where you operate it without thought and do the job required. The 300 NF is so versatile and yet has a smack of power. The 830 was the same and seemed indestructible.
