Looking at a case. Want to mount my 9 ft New Holland sickle mower on it and leave it. Any thoughts? Seller says gas tank is rusty. About an hour from me. Haven't seen it in person...... What is the black hose on it??

I don't think it's a VAO...... Doesn't that mean orchard?

Looks just like a standard VAC with a wide front. Tough little tractor, may not have working hydraulics. In our area wide fronts not common. The early ones had hydraulics that were a little "sketchy" at best, IMHO. The one I have does not have remotes. Mine is a 46, so newer ones might have better hydraulics. Lots made, parts are around, at least in our part of the world. Did ya get a look @ the Ford @ the title pawn place?

That is one of the later model VAC tractors, don't know which exactly. But with the eagle hitch it will have live hydraulic and can have a rear remote. Tough gutsy little tractors with more hp than most brands in that size range.

That one does have the live hydraulics as you can see the pump on the engine.
Also has the later steering set up.
Just remember when you see the oil pressure that they were set up to run 12 to 15 pounds when new.
So if the pressure is low when running it, that is perfectly fine.

Richard, after texting the guy last night I found out the gas tank is missing. So rusty it got tossed..... Tractor last ran 2 years ago. He bought it, drove it on a trailer, and a few laps around his yard. Planning to restore and lost interest. No battery. Carb is gummed up. Front tires leak down every 8 hours......

That would be a no sale for me then.
Sounds like it could need a lot of work.
If it has sat outside for 2 years, could have a lot of water in transmission.

Not a VAO a VAC-13 as I do not see the lower seating position a VAC-14 has but may be the angle of the pics too,, I cant see the pics well enough to see what black hose you are asking about,, I see something going to the rockshaft, maybe thats it,, looks like they replaced the steel line with a hose
