Case 230 baler

Mine is a '57, by the date of the owners and parts manuals that came with it. Old Abes News quite while ago ran more definitive data in a baler article but I don't have a clue when that was....... Larry

Yep, JI Case 133 came out in 1957...Dad bought a brand new one. Then a new 220 JI Case...after that his closest dealer was New Holland and bought a new 269 and several new models after that.

You are correct. I'm used to Racine literature which can date itself. I rechecked and sure enough Bett as a prefix so a Bettendorf unit and literature. Looking a piece of sales lit in the file, it's got Form No. A44367L. This tells me it's a Mar 67 piece I believe, on the 230/330 twine and wire tie balers. Thanks Larry

My dad bought a 330W to replace well worn 140W in 67. Had bunch of problems so much that finally had 2 factory service techs sent to straiten it up.

the first run 330's had problems we had a truck load of them,, was not too bad to fix,, we did every one the first week they were in the field,, after that no more issues from the 67 model year ones or any after,, many dealers were never baler people,, we fixed a number of ones sold through other dealers as well,,
