Case 580CK/530CK Guidance for a 188 Diesel

Greetings all! Ive been reading heavily over the past few weeks but feel Ive come to a point where I need wisdom and advice in my unique situation. I inherited a 59 310B with a 148 gas that was supposed to be good. Not sure on year at this point but, it had rotten hydraulics, tires, broken metal and a good motor. I purchased a 66 530CK to pilfer hoses and tires from with a bad 188 diesel. I was then going to put the 148 in the 530, rebuild the 188 with the spun rod bearing and someday revive the 310 with a diesel conversion. I split the 530 and prepped it to receive the 148. I got the 310 running and limped it over to the 530, and it threw a rod through the oil pan. Im glad I didnt just swap it! After pricing rebuild kits for both I elected to buy a 65 580CK less the backhoe. Its got a bad power shuttle and good 188 diesel. My intent is to just split the 580, which is in excellent condition, and roll the whole front end over to the 530 and bolt them together. Ill say goodbye to the 310 when the swap is complete. My current dilemma is: Should I just swap the good 188 from the 580 onto the 530 and get to work with it, or spend my time on the 580s shuttle? The 530 has a manual shuttle and clutch. The 580 has (I think, Im still learning here!) a power shuttle. Im thinking the fewer parts of the manual shuttle would be easier to maintain than the power shuttle. Any advice is appreciated. The goal is to have the most reliable machine functioning as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

guess whoever said the 148 was good, was a good liar or we did not get the rest of the story. Good luck on your adventure. gobble

Some pictures of the 580. The 310s original owner passed, and the Widow shared with me what she knew. I pulled it out of some Pacific Northwest forest where it had sat for about 20 years. Im not one to turn down a free tractor in any condition. Both CKs were recent runners. The 580 was towed to where it was needed. The backhoe attached and the arm used to crawl the tractor around the job site. Then dismantled and towed away. The 530 was a functioning farm tool in Arlington, WA until the bearing spun. Then nnalert happened and the owners of both CKs needed some cash over fixing. The 580s owner about shed a tear to see it go and personally knew the 2 other deceased owners out of Halfway, Oregon.

I prefer wrenches to keyboards. Sorry for the multiple posts.
