I worked the SC pretty hard yesterday plowing. The engine now revs way up when I just barely move the throttle. Could the carburetor throttle plate be loose. When I move the rod between the carburetor and the governor by hand, it takes very little movement to make the engine rev way up.

I took the governor off today. The sleeve that slides on the shaft was not sliding as far down the shaft as it should, when the weights spin and pull on it. I guess it was caused by lack of lubrication? Tractor runs fine now.

My other thought was, could I have cracked the manifold? I got pretty hot.

The governor is not hooked up right.. you will need a book to set it right

Something must have broken in the governor, if that's the problem. I has ran fine for years.
