530 injection pump bleeding

I just got a rebuilt head back on my 530 (188D) I installed the rebuilt injection pump and got all the lines hooked up.
Diesel tech rebuilt my pump and injectors.
Everything was dry because I even drained and removed the fuel tank.
I have fuel thru the filters and I have fuel coming out the little inspection plate on the pump if I loosen the two screws.
I cranked it with the key a few times for a minute or two, but have no fuel at injectors. I have the injector lines connected but not tight.
Should I just keep cranking ?

Did you bleed it at the elbow that goes into the pump from the filters, I have had many that would not bleed till I did that. If you have a lot of fuel in the tank the return lines will fill the pump so that is not an indication that the actual pumping portions of the pump are primed.

how much fuel in the tank, easiest to bleed with the tank full. you have no other option than cranking if you cant pull it.

Make sure the stop lever is fully forward, throttle 1/3 open. I crank for 30-45 seconds at a time, allowing starter and battery to rest between attempts. One trick I do on rebuilt engine is leave the injectors out, so engine will crank faster during bleeding. When fuel is at each injector line nut install injectors and start engine. Sometimes they bleed out quickly, sometimes they take awhile, especially if cranking speed is slow.

I’m letting it sit over nigh, maybe it’ll help get any air out. There is plenty of fuel in the tank. I’ll try bleeding the elbow at pump before I try to crank it over tomorrow

Got the 530 running today. Just had to bleed the filter once more and a little cranking till I got fuel dripping out of the injector lines
